Nokia 6 Gets Android 8.0 Oreo Beta Update

HMD's global Chief product officer, Juho Sarvikas has announced that the company has started rolling out beta update for the Nokia 6. He made this known via Twitter after the company also rolled out updates for both the Nokia 8 and Nokia 5. 

In his tweet, the chief product officer wrote;
#Nokia6 is now joining the #AndroidOreo beta. Subscribe to #Nokiamobilebetalabs to get the update and help us to make the official release just right!
The update which is 1140.4MB in size, comes with a version number 5.140 which will also includes Android security update for December 2017. It will be available via Nokia phones beta labs and the beta testers will be the first ones to test the features of Android 8.0. 

The new Android 8.0 Oreo update will bring a range of features including Background limits, Picture-in-Picture (PIP), notification channels, Wide-gamut color for apps, Adaptive icons, Companion device pairing, Keyboard navigation, AAudio API for Pro Audio and more.

For beta tester with Nokia 6, to get the update, create an account and validate your device by entering the IMEI number. Once the whole process is complete, you will be getting the beta software Over-The-Air (OTA) update which might take up to 12 hours post activation.
