OnePlus 5T Gets OxygenOS Open Beta 1 (Android 8 Oreo) Update

Good news for OnePlus 5T users as the company finally released the first OxygenOS Open Beta update that brings Android 8.0 (Oreo) to the device. The company promised the Oreo update after the launch of the device last month. This is coming after OnePlus 5 Gets OxygenOS 5.0 Android 8.0 Oreo Update.  

As you may well know, Android 8.0 (Oreo) brings to your device, popular features such as background limits that puts a big priority on improving user’s battery life, snoozing that lets users to snooze notifications to reappear at a later time and wide-gamut color for apps among many more.

Here’s the changelog of this build.

Updated to Android O (8.0)

  • Combine icon options with app shortcuts
  • Now able to upload photos to Shot on OnePlus

How To Update

  • Download the roll-back build provided [HERE] to Internal storage.
  • Shut down your device and enter recovery mode by long pressing the Power + Volume Down key simultaneously.
  • Select “Install from Local” and choose the downloaded build to install.
  • Reboot your device after installing the build. You have to re-enter recovery mode to Wipe data cache and Erase everything(Music, pics, etc).
  • Reboot your device again and you're all good to go.
Please note that this is beta software and as such, it may not be stable and also since this is a beta update, you will need to flash it manually by downloading the ROM. The update weighs 1.6GB in size and you can get the full flashing instructions [HERE].
