OxygenOS: Meaning And Things You Need To Know

OnePlus recently released the latest OxygenOS 5.0 Android 8.0 Oreo Update for its OnePlus 5 device. A lot of people have heard about OxygenOS but do not know what its means or the features and functions. In this post, we will be looking at the definition and few things you need to know about it.

OxygenOS is OnePlus customized version of the popular Android mobile operating system designed exclusively for OnePlus smartphones. It is a modified version of custom ROM giving you more features and functionality. The OS has been termed one of the best implementations of Android currently available due to its simplicity and the addition of few differentiating features on top of a near-stock user interface. The OS covers three core areas which include gestures, customization and quick settings.

The first version of OxygenOS, (OxygenOS 1.0) was released in 2015, when Google introduced the 5.0.1 Lollipop. This was followed by more updates leading to the latest version ( OxygenOS 5.0) which was released back in 19 November 2017, after Google released the Android 8.0 Oreo. The latest update comes with lots of features such as Added Parallel Apps, Added Picture in Picture, Added Auto-fill, Added Smart text selection, New Quick Settings design, And Updated security patches also included are Added notification dots New app folder design and Now able to upload photos directly to Shot on OnePlus.

Like we stated above, OxygenOS OnePlus is a customized version of Android, The version comes tweaked bring so amazing features which includes;

1) Reading Mode: is a new feature available on OxygenOS OnePlus device which automatically calibrates the color temperature of the display, making it conducive to reading.

2) Gaming Do Not Disturb: This is another great feature designed for gamers. This feature makes it possible for users to switches off all notifications while using any app that needs your complete attention. To enable this, simply go to Settings > Advanced > Gaming Do Not Disturb.

3) Night Mode: With this, you have the ability to customize and set automatic start and stop times. This feature makes it possible to view screen at night by activating a blue light filter.

4) Gestures: OxygenOS OnePlus offers a range of gestures that make it easier to interact with the phone. The gesture makes it possible to simply draw letters to launch or access an app.

OxygenOS comes with many more features which includes, OnePlus Shelf, App Locker, Launcher customization, Status bar e.t.c.
