Xiaomi Mi A1 Gets Android 8.0 Oreo Update

Xiaomi has started rolling out the stable version of Android 8.0 Oreo for its Xiaomi Mi A1 users today, just few days before the end of the year. The update which weighs more than 1GB brings the December security updates as well as many other features. Announcing this via MiUi forum, the company made it known that the update will be received Over-The-Air (OTA).

Remember that the smartphone was launched running stock Android 7.1 Nougat and after a beta testing update earlier this month, a stable version has finally been released. Xiaomi Mi A1 will be one of the most affordable Android smartphones to get the Android Oreo update. To get the v7.12.29 (Android O) update your device should be running  v7.12.19 (Android N) on your device.

Android 8.0 Oreo comes with great features such as Background limits, Picture-in-Picture (PIP), Snoozing individual notification, Adaptive icons, Keyboard navigation, AAudio API for Pro Audio, WebView enhancements and many more. 

How to Upgrade

First you must upgrade to 7.12.19 (Android N) first before you can upgrade to 7.12.29 (Android O). To do this, follow the process stated HERE.
