Toshiba Unveil The DynaEdge AR Smart Glasses Wearable Windows PC

Toshiba has officially launched its new dynaEdge AR Smart Glasses, designed to be a wearable Windows PC aimed at business users. The launch price of the device start at $1,899, and it’s aiming it straight at business users.

With the aid of the device, users can view Document, Live Video Calls, See-What-I-See, Photo/Video Capture, Alerts/Messaging, and perform Workflow Instruction and Barcode Scanning including Maintenance, Remote Expert, Manufacturing, QA Inspection & Audit, Logistics, Training and Knowledge Transfer.

The wearable Augmented Reality (AR) solution works be combining the dynaEdge DE-100 Mobile Mini PC with Windows 10 Pro and dynaEdge AR100 Head Mounted Display (HMD). The dynaEdge DE-100 Mobile Mini PC launched last August comes running on Windows 10 and has an Intel Core M processor. It boast of a 6GB RAM, and an internal storage capacity of 512GB with a six hours on a single charge.

On the other hand, the Toshiba AR100 Head Mounted Display comes weighing about 50 grams and could be used either on the left or right eye depending on the user. It comes with a 4.1-inch display seen at 14 inches and has an integrated touchpad, GPS, three-axis accelerometer with a gyroscope for head tracking, 5MP POV camera, speaker and dual noise-canceling microphones for voice communications. The AR100 HMD was developed in partnership with Vuzix Corporation.

Toshiba plans to make the dynaEdge AR Smart Glasses available in Q2 2018.
