Google To Finally Ban Fake ID Apps From Play Store

Google has announced that it will be banning all fake id apps from its Play Store. The company made it known that the move is in line with keeping to its promise of not allowing apps misleading users. Google Play Store have in recent time seen tons of app promising users to help you make a fake ID. Apps affected includes those that helps to create fake social security numbers, passports, diplomas, credit cards and driver’s licenses.


Google Play Store recognize this apps as illegal and it is presently remove them from its service. The company consider them dangerous and inappropriate and as such is cracking down on them. Developers of the apps can host them elsewhere but from the crackdown, these app are good as dead due to the reach of Google play store. 

Also affected are apps that are develop to prank people in the name of entertainment. According to google, these apps are considered inappropriate. Google wrote on its official play store website saying;
We don't allow apps that help users to mislead others, including, but not limited to, apps that generate or facilitate the generation of ID cards, social security numbers, passports, diplomas, credit cards and driver's licenses.
Any claim that an app is a "prank", "for entertainment purposes" (or other synonym) does not exempt an app from application of our policies.
